Varieties of bread from the Balearic Islands

Specialties

Among the varieties of country bread, there is brown bread, white bread and wholemeal bread. On Saturdays, they also make rye bread.

 

Ensaimadas are another of their specialities, with fillings to suit all tastes: cream, cream with walnuts, chocolate or the classic plain ones.

 

Cocarrois and empanadas (panades) are other star products of the bakery, made with pork, meat only, mixed or peas only. Cocarrois are prepared stuffed with cabbage or kale, potato and onion.

 

They also make savoury cocas with trempó, vegetables, red peppers and other varieties depending on the time of year.

 

In addition, they offer traditional Mallorcan products for each holiday or season: Christmas cocas and Roscón de Reyes for Christmas, espinagades for Sant Antoni and San Sebastián, rubiols, crespells and lamb empanadas (panades) for Easter, and cocas de San Juan. Entre les varietats de pa de pagès, es troba el pa moreno, el pa blanc i l’integral. Els dissabtes també elaboren pa de sègol.
