Varieties of bread from the Balearic Islands

Specialties

In terms of country bread varieties, they make white bread and brown bread.

 

They offer a large selection of traditional savory products, such as meat pies (panades) with meat, meat with peas, chicken and onion, as well as sweet meat pies. They also make vegetables, trempó, pepper and onion, and sobrasada and honey cocas.

 

Among their sweet pastries, they make cremadillos, crespells, rubiols with black seed squash jam, cream, apricot jam, and chocolate, as well as mantecados and doblegats.

 

They have typical products that are consumed during each holiday or season, such as Carnival ensaimadas with sobrasada and calabazate, rubiols with cottage cheese and strawberry jam, and vegetable pies at Easter, which are added to the rubiols and pies that they make throughout the year, in addition to the traditional All Saints’ Day rosarios.
