Varieties of bread from the Balearic Islands

Specialties

Among their varieties of country bread, they offer white bread, brown bread and xeixa bread. They also make rye bread, spelt bread, multigrain bread, soy bread, corn bread, spinach bread (green fibre) and bread with cereals and malt. 

 

They make all kinds of traditional sweet and savoury pastries. 

 

They have ensaimadas, apricot cake and apricot cake with cream. Rubiols with angel hair, apricot jam (made by them with apricots from Porreres), dark and white chocolate, ricotta, strawberry, dulce de leche and ricotta duchesses, among others. You can also find chocolate, angel hair, cream and apple puff pastries. 

 

Among the savoury pastries, the cocarrois, vegetable cakes, trempó, roasted peppers and onion cakes stand out. Another of their specialities are meat pies (panades) with meat, meat with peas, meat with esclata-sangs, fish, cuttlefish, peas with sobrasada, chicken with onion, lamb with peas, trempó with tuna, and wholemeal pies with peas and tuna. 

 

They also make pastries such as a variety of cakes.

Benet Barón runs the business together with his wife Encarna Fresneda. 

 

He holds the Master Pastry Chef Certificate and the DQA Artisan Company Certificate. They have their own mill where they make flour from local wheat varieties (xeixa), grown by farmers in the surrounding area.
