Young bakers learn about the new concept of artisan baking from Simó Moreno

Bread Week ended with a talk by baker Simó Moreno from s’ERA Forn Artesà in Sineu. The event brought together students from the Escola d’Hoteleria de les Illes Balears (EHIB), CEIP Juníper Serra, IES Josep Sureda i Blanes and IES Felanitx, who learned about the new concept of Simó’s Obrador shop and his vision for the future of artisan baking.

Moreno explained the new ways of working in the sector and the different types of artisan bread that can be found in the bakery. To round off the day, the students were able to enjoy a tasting of the products.

The aim of this activity, promoted by Pa d’Aquí de ADRBalears of the Regional Ministry of Business, Self-Employment and Energy and the Association of Bakers and Pastry Chefs (Conselleria d’Empresa, Autònoms i Energia y la Associació de Forners i Pastissers) of the Balearic Islands, is to encourage the next generation to take up the trade and to promote its value.
