What is “Pan de aquí, horno y tradición” (“Bread from here, oven and tradition”)?
“Pan de aquí, horno y tradición” is a collective brand aiming to promote the traditional bread of the Asociación de Panaderos y Pasteleros de las Illes Baleares (Bakers and Confectioners Association of the Balearic Islands) and ADR Baleares (Regional Development Agency of the Balearic Islands), distinguishes the different bread types from the Islands made in bakeries.
Which bakeries and establishments can have the brand “Pan de aquí, horno y tradición”
The brand can be found in bakeries and patisseries in the Balearic Islands with a bakery with a minimum of 70% of products made in-house. In addition, they must offer the public at least two varieties considered typical of the Balearic Islands.
Consumers can distinguish the establishments adhering to “Pan de aquí, horno y tradición” by a sticker with the brand’s logo, which in most cases is placed on the glass of the bakery’s shop window.
At present, almost all the municipalities have bakeries with bakeries where you can find varieties of bread considered typical of the Balearic Islands, around 300 points of sale.
Varieties of bread considered typical of the Balearic Islands
Pagés bread (white or brown), xeixa bread, magraneta, llonguet, vienna, coc de Ciutadella, oil biscuits, Ibiza’s strong biscuits and oil bread roll.
Objectives of the brand:
• To identify the bakeries where the baker’s bread is made.
• To highlight the quality of the bread and respect for the product, as well as to publicise the world around it.
• To distinguish the sector in the face of strong competition from non-specialised establishments that also offer bread to consumers.
• To promote training and generational renewal, as this is absolutely necessary to guarantee the future of the sector.
